Top 7 Easter Basket items for your toddler
Being thoughtful in our choices for Easter Basket items and making them have a purpose in our life helps us avoid more purchases later… in this economy, we could all use a little help! We also appreciate that our children know gifts aren’t just toys they use once and move on. Here are seven non-candy items that we have in our basket this year! - Sidewalk Chalk has not lost it’s luster in this house. Our three-year-old chooses to use some almost every time we go outside. So does Dad, the neighbors, and family. I mean, who doesn’t love a little sidewalk chalk? We all have fun with it and go through it fairly quickly. In this house adding special shapes and colors of chalk is an exciting treat to an Easter Basket. Click here are some cool choices for chalk this year: Chalk
2. Bubbles are always fun and now with a toddler and an infant it is a safe activity for everyone to enjoy! Shout out to Aunty Jimmy and Uncle Potty (Our Oldest is a nickname extraordinaire!) for the bubble bazooka. I’m confident the bubble bazooka will never stop being fun for all ages. 3. Shoes are a constant need in our house. Mom wears size 13 and Dad a EEE … our foot math means the kids have some fast-growing feet. Spring and Summer come with sandal weather. Our daughter loves Crocs so we decided this year the one-year-old will get his first pair as well. Cannot go wrong with some fun shoes in their basket. We like to give them things that are exciting but also can be useful long term. Here are a few of our favorites:
New for 1 year old this year | New for 3 year old this year | 2 Year old favorites last year | Crocs
4. Crafting reigns supreme in our house for free time activities indoors. Our infant is going to get some egg-shaped and oversized honey stick crayons and our toddler is getting new kits. Although we love the art gallery that has taken up residence in our house we love to have giveaways as well. This year we are making stained glass sun catchers to give out at family gatherings for easter. *Spoiler Alert to and family who reads this* Wherever your child is developmentally they can start creating art to keep or share!

5. Books are a must at this age in our house. Aiming for 1000 books before kindergarten and we LOVE to celebrate the little moments through reading. One of our favorites with holiday editions is Clifford the Big Red Dog.

6. Swimsuits are always a good choice in our house. Although we do not have a nice pool set up in the back yard we do have some pretty cool blow-up water park-like stations. On rainy spring days, we will have an “indoor beach party.” This is when we get the kids in swimsuits blow up our inflatable palm trees, beach balls and floaties, bring in snacks, a beach chair and beach towels and set up in our master bathroom as if the tub is the ocean. Bonus points when I bring in the projector and project live streams to different beaches around the world. This started with my nephews during Lockdown and we have kept it up whenever we need some outdoor time and it’s not an outdoor day. Also just before spring breaks a lot of suits are on sale and we have more choices for one-piece swimsuits with long sleeves for our red-haired and blue-eyed kiddos. Swim Suits
7. Educational Toys are my favorite item to add each year, My mom and teacher heart beam when I compare them to the choice the year before. It is a sweet way to reflect on their growth and how much they have learned in the last 12 months. At this young age is astonishing how much! Many of our favorites over the years are Melissa and Doug Toys
